A Little Knee Time Needed!
We are Here! We are HERE!! WE ARE HERE!!! I can’t believe that we are finally here! Just 2.5 days until we meet our baby girl! We had a good flight, made it to the hotel safely and slept off and on throughout the night. (McKayla choose to be awake from 11pm-5am…ugh!) I emailed some of you specific prayer requests for each day that we are here, this is another list of things that we (Jay, McKayla and me) put together last week…I had hoped to post it sooner, but packing for this trip was a monster! Consider 1Peter 5:7 as you read through these…“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” That is exactly what we did when we made this list…we were giving Him ALL of our “anxiety“, no matter how big, small or silly! McKayla’s List (Hers were typed word for word…I love this baby girls heart!) Safe flight That we get Amelia okay and china says okay Safe trip coming home. Travel schedule
OUR FLIGHTS ARE BOOKED!!! Here is our tentative travel schedule while in China. Travel Schedule: 11/14 – Depart US at 7:20am 11/15 – Arrive in Beijing at 3:40pm 11/16 and 11/17 – Tour Beijing (try to get over jet lag!) 11/18 – Fly to Taiyuan, Shanxi Province – Gotcha Day! (Get our baby girl) 11/19 – 11/22 – Appointments and Government proceedings. 11/23 – Fly to Guangzhou 11/24 – Medical exam/TB Test in Guangzhou 11/25 – 11/28 – Touring, Shopping, Bonding time with AMot! 11/29 – American Consulate Appointment – Oath Taking Ceremony 11/30 – Family goes to American Consulate to pick up passport with visa 12/1- Depart China at 9:15am – Arrive Houston at 4:44pm
We are so close!
We just received our Travel Approval from China! YAY! Just a few more steps and we will be on our way to get Amelia! We are just waiting on our appointment time at the US Consulate in Guangzhou before we can book our travel. We HOPE to be on an airplane by November 7th, we will spend a few days in Beijing and then we will go to Taiyan (which is the capital of Shanxi Province, where Amelia is from) So we should get our baby girl on either the 11th or 12th….BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER! (Good luck topping this birthday in the future JMot!) We will spend a total of 14-15 days in China, so we should be home Thanksgiving night. Originally the plan was for Jay and I to go alone, but sometime in August there seemed to be a shift in McKayla’s thinking about her baby sister, it was all becoming real to her and I think she began to worry she was going to be left out. So, now we have her and my mom going too. We want her to experience every step right along side of us! Please begin praying for all four…five of us! Amelia will be 20 months old on Saturday…this is the most recent photo I have of her. Isn’t she just gorgeous and she looks so happy (Thank you God that she is happy)! I can’t wait to […]
